| Hello! Welcome to my website. I am excited every year for a new bunch of minds to challenge. I enjoy teaching because I am able to interact with students daily and watch them grow. It is thrilling to see a student 'get it' for the first time. I enjoy teaching with technology, and trying to implement my eMINTS philosophy to my class! I earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2005 through University of Central Missouri and my Specialist Degree in Educational Technology through University of Missouri in May 2008.
I LOVE sports, BUT they do not come before school! I played volleyball for the University of Central Missouri Jennies . In my junior year, I was ranked 4th in the nation for blocking. I can say that was one achievement I am greatly proud of accomplishing. I play when ever I get the chance, but it is not as often as I would like.
This summer one of the best times of my life happened! Casey and I were married June 7, 2008 in Kansas City, Kansas. Casey and I moved to Wichita after our wedding as he was accepted to Wichita State University to earn his second Master's degree. This degree is focusing on Creative Writing. His first Master's was in English Literature at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where we has taught both Composition I and II and both Universities.
I grew up in Columbia, Illinois (southeast of St. Louis, Missouri) for 18 years. After graduating from the University of Central Missouri, I stayed in the Kansas City area. I moved to Lee's Summit and I have enjoyed doing odds and ends around my new home. My parents currently live in Hot Springs, Arkansas. When I visit, we spend a lot of time boating on Lake Ouachita. My sister, Elyse , also attended Central Missouri State where she also played and was a student assistant for the Jennies Volleyball team. She was a two-time NCAA All-American and voted as CMSU top Female Athlete in 2005.
She graduated with her Master's in 2006 and her job took her to Hot Springs, AR. She now works at the United States Passport Agencies in Hot Springs.
